Shakespeare under the stars
The theatre, the theatre.
Driftwood Outdoor Theatre Company is making a triumphant return to Ingersoll this coming Friday July 15th with their own version of one of Shakespeare’s most famous comedies – “Taming of a the Shrew”.
Now in their 22nd year, Driftwood Theatre has been staging Shakespearean plays across Ontario longer than any other travelling company. And all of the plays are accessible to anyone. Their pay-what-you-can admission policy makes classical theatre available to one and all. The suggested admission is $20 but more, and less, will be gladly accepted.
The play will begin at 7:30pm. “Tis an excellent piece of work”. Plan to come early in order to get close to the stage. Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs, then “sit by my side, and let the world slip: we shall ne’er be younger”.
Come early for the pre-show reading of Shakespearean themed poems submitted to this year’s James McIntyre Poetry Contest. Then sit back and enjoy the professionally staged play. Sit back and enjoy Shakespeare under the stars.
