Hardwood Ski and Bike has over 100 km of beautiful, rolling trails through hardwood and pine forests for mountain biking. In addition to the 34 km of rolling double track trails, there is an additional 50 km of challenging single track trails that intertwine with the ski trail network creating endless possibilities of courses and obstacles.

With learning in mind, Hardwood Ski and Bike wants to make mountain biking accessible to anyone from 4 – 100 years of age. There are trails for every level and ability and lesson & programs in place for everyone from beginners to elite athletes. Kids can enjoy the Radical Riders program or Camp Hardwood while adults can enjoy a Ride Better Clinic, Women’s Clinics, or Gear Up program.

HERE ARE A FEW REASONS THAT SET US APART FROM ANY OTHER SKI AND BIKE RESORT

  • OUR SANDY BASE: We have great trail conditions all summer. Even with the craziest rain storms, our trails never get washed out or mucky. We have amazing drainage since our trails are mostly sand based.
  • AMAZING TRAIL MAINTENANCE: We ensure that our trails are kept clean of debris, not only for your safety, but for your peace-of-mind. We sweep our trails daily of fallen trees and branches. Sure, you can mountain bike in any park, but that is like trying to play golf in a farmer’s field. Once you have mountain biked on our trails you will agree that this is the only way to ride.
  • TRAILS FOR EVERYONE! A full variety of trails for all levels of riders. We have over 80 km of single-track and double-track trails. There are gently rolling trails for beginners and technical trails with challenging features for the elite riders. All of the loops start and finish at the lodge.
  • EVENTS We have been lucky in hosting some world class events at Hardwood; such as the Mountain biking events for the 2015 PanAm Games, The Canadian National MTB Championships, The Provincial Cyclo-Cross Championships, The Epic 8 Hour MTB Relays, the Single Track Challenge, and of course – the Trek Wednesday Night Races Series!
  • IT’S SAFE: Hardwood is a safe place to ride. The staff members are fully trained in first aid and we have a Bike Patrol every weekend for your safety. All of our trails are one way, marked with clear signage, and they are cleared daily of any trees or debris. At the end of each day we sweep our trails to make sure that everyone is safely back to their cars.
  • OPEN LATE: We are open 7 days a week. We accommodate our pass holders by staying open late Wednesdays until 8 pm.
  • OUR STAFF: We are experts in all areas of mountain biking. We live the sport and can provide you with the knowledge and advice that you will need in order to enjoy your day. Plus – we are super friendly and will go out of our way to ensure you have a fantastic experience.
  • LOCATION. LOCATION. LOCATION. The area known as “the gateway to cottage country”; we are centrally located between Highway 400 North and Highway 11 North, 15 minutes north of Barrie, and only 90 minutes north of Toronto.
  • THE PROGRAMS: We have learning programs for all levels and ages of riders. This is a place where the whole family can come to ride and have fun. There are lessons, clinics, kids programs, special events, racing programs all summer.
  • QUALITY OVER QUANTITY: We specialize in cross country mountain biking and deliver the best trails, services, and programs to meet your needs. Mountain biking, disc golf, and volleyball are all offered at the resort; therefore, the whole family can enjoy this outdoor playground. With our café serving healthy, delicious meals and snacks, a service shop for your entire rental and repair needs, as well as a retail shop equipped with bike gear and accessories galore, we promise you’ll have an amazing, full-service experience at Hardwood Ski and Bike.
