Adames named new Niagara Parks CEO
The Niagara Parks Commission has appointed David Adames as its new chief executive officer.
Adames has been acting CEO since October, replacing Reegan McCullough who accepted the position of chief administrative officer of Sturgeon County in Alberta.
In making the announcement, Niagara Parks Chairwoman Sandie Bellows said Adames will continue to “provide the leadership and strategic business direction needed to maintain Niagara Parks’ tourism growth.”
Adames is the Parks Commission’s 12th CEO since its inception in 1885.
He is the former President and CEO of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, as well as executive director at Tourism Hamilton. He joined the Commission in 2013, first as senior director of business development and then chief operating officer in 2016.
Adames currently serves on several boards, including Niagara Falls Tourism, and is Chairman of the Winter Festival of Lights Board. The McMaster University and Queen’s University alumnus has guided the Parks’ inclusion into the Culinary Tourism Alliance, and has led the development of the Parks’ new brand strategy and marketing plan.
