Doors Open Halton
Halton Region, just west of the Greater Toronto Area, combines small-town charm with the amenities of major urban centres, and is home to the City of Burlington and the towns of Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville. Visitors can paddle on Lake Ontario, hike or bike the Niagara Escarpment, shop in Canada’s largest outlet mall or hand-pick fresh fruit and vegetables at one of Halton’s many farms or markets.
We are less than an hour’s drive from Toronto, Hamilton, Niagara, Kitchener and Vaughan. Spend Saturday in the south visiting Oakville and Burlington and Sunday exploring what awaits in Milton and Halton Hills. Our Doors Open sites will certainly appeal to all ages and interests – from heritage buffs and gardeners to nature and art enthusiasts. We welcome visitors to discover our charming private homes, curated heritage sites, unique businesses and lasting institutions – such as Oakville’s old post office, 1830 Ireland House and Erchless Estate.
To plan your Doors Open Halton Region weekend, visit the Hamilton | Halton | Brant website or the Discovering Halton site. Halton is accessed from the Queen Elizabeth Way, Highways 7, 401, 403 and 407, with GO Transit services to all four of our communities.
