Bringing History to Life!

At Waterloo Central Railway, you’ll experience a historic passenger train ride that starts at Northfield Drive in Waterloo, and travels to the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market, Village of St. Jacobs and Town of Elmira. We offer exciting experiences for family fun, a girls day out, or something unique to do as a couple or with a group of friends.

Travel in heritage passenger coaches pulled behind either steam or diesel locomotives. Enjoy leisurely rides on select dates that the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market is open from May to October. We are proudly operated by the Southern Ontario Locomotive Restoration Society (SOLRS), a not-for-profit, registered charitable organization. We are operated by a very talented team of volunteers who are dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and operation of heritage railway equipment. All ticket proceeds go towards supporting restoration programs that are ultimately used for the education and enjoyment of our guests.
