Attractions Ontario partners with OTT Pay to bring Alipay & WeChat Pay to Ontario Attractions
Toronto, ON –May 2018 – Attractions Ontario is excited to announce its latest partnership with OTT Pay.
With this new collaboration, members of Attractions Ontario now have the convenience of offering AliPay
and WeChat Pay at their front gates, enabling Chinese travelers to find their attraction more easily and pay
with the tap of the phone.
This partnership comes with anticipation of the Canada‐China Year of Tourism, which Canadian Prime
Minister Justin Trudeau and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang announced for 2018. With this initiative intending to
create closer ties between Chinese and Canadian citizens, it is expected that Ontario will see an influx of
Chinese travelers.
“Understanding the importance of offering the Chinese traveler an easy way to pay, we have made it simple
for our Attractions Ontario members to offer wireless smart payment terminals from the largest Alipay and
WeChat Pay provider in Canada,” says Troy Young, Chief Executive Officer of Attractions Ontario. “We
encourage all our attraction members to get on board with this initiative and welcome the Chinese traveler
to experience and enjoy what Ontario has to offer with ease.”
Attractions Ontario is a non‐profit association, dedicated solely to optimizing attendance for their member
attractions. As the only province‐wide trade association dedicated exclusively to the attractions sector of the
tourism industry, Attractions Ontario members encompass over 500 public and privately owned attractions in
numerous categories such as amusement parks, historical sites, cultural activities, arts & entertainment and
adventure.
“OTT Pay is thrilled to form a strategic alliance with Attractions Ontario. Both organizations have the
shared vision in connecting Canadian businesses with Chinese consumers. We not only want to assist
Attractions Ontario members in accepting the preferred payment methods in China, but also would like
to promote what Ontario has to offer to Chinese consumers. We look forward to a long‐term fruitful
partnership with Attractions Ontario and its members.”, says William Lam, the Chief Commercial Officer
of OTT Pay. OTT Pay has the technology and expertise to promote the most iconic attractions in Ontario
to over 1 billion active users on the Alipay and WeChat Pay platforms.
As an official payment service and marketing partner of WeChat and Alipay, OTT Pay is a leading platform
