Book Club runs at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre until August 18th
… “A delightfully quirky comedy from the writer of “Five Alarm.” …
The Port Stanley Festival theatre is pleased to be presenting “Book Club”, a new comedy by up and coming playwright Kristen Da Silva as its fourth offering of the 2018 summer season. Running from July 25th, in our newly renovated Grace Auditorium, this quirky romantic comedy enjoys a four-week run with a closing night August 18th.
Starring Port Stanley favorite Franny McCabe-Bennett (“Perfect Wedding”, “Avenue Q”, and “Five Alarm”), and newcomers Tracey Beltrano (“Moose on the Loose” and “Night of the Living Dead”) , Brittany Kay (“Romeo and Juliet” and “The Lion King”), Iain Stewart (“Stag and Doe” and “Bed and Breakfast”), Josh Johnston (three seasons at Stratford and “Who’s Under Where?”), and Jeff Dingle (“”Birds and the Bees” and “The Three Musketeers”), “Book Club” is directed by Guest Director Liz Gilroy (“Bingo Ladies”, “Sexy Laundry”, and “Not in my Backyard”) and Stage Managed by Jory McLean, with Set Design by Joshua Quinlan, and Lighting Design by Karen Crichton.
“Three girls, three boys, an exchange of ideas, an exploration of a favorite book … that was the plan … or was it? Everyone gets more than they bargained for when “Book Club” gets out of hand. A lot gets said, but precious little has anything to do with books!”
With a varied season, which will appeal to single ticket buyers, subscribers, and tour groups alike, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre provides another season of top quality entertainment in 2018.
