WFOL Hosting Volunteer Recruitment Barbeque on October 13th!
Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights is looking to expand its team of volunteers
With the start of its 34th season rapidly approaching the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights (WFOL) is preparing to host their annual Volunteer Recruitment Barbeque on October 13th at Heartland Forest from 5-7PM. The Festival’s dedicated group of volunteers are the driving force that make this treasured winter tradition possible. In 2015 one hundred and twenty people volunteered for the Festival putting in a grand total of three thousand-four hundred hours.
While many of the Festivals volunteers return year after year, this season the WFOL is looking to grow its volunteer base in order to support the new events and programming that are planned for the 2016/17 season. The barbeque is free to attend. Food and snacks will be served including hamburgers, hot dogs, pop and water. Those interested in attending must RSVP and everyone is encouraged to bring a friend. At the BBQ attendees will learn about events planned for the upcoming WFOL season as well as volunteer opportunities and incentive programs.
“The Festival is growing. This season we will be offering more events and programming for attendees which means we are looking to recruit more volunteers,” says Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights Executive Director, Tina Myers. “We have an award winning volunteer program and I would encourage anyone that is looking to get involved in the community to attend our BBQ on October 13th and learn about our volunteer opportunities.”
