What Attractions are Open in Ontario? 

As of March 8, 2021, all regions are back in the COVID response program. So, what does that mean for you? This means that each region will follow direction from their local Public Health; to find out what your region’s guidelines are, visit: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/zones-and-restrictions.  

Currently the City of Toronto, Peel, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, & Lambton are in the Grey Zone and attractions are not able to open. 

Which attractions can open? 

For a public attraction to open its doors, the region it resides in must be in the Red, Orange, Yellow or Green Zone. This includes: 

• Museums
• Galleries
• Aquariums
• Zoos
• Science Centres
• Landmarks
• Historic Sites
• Botanical Gardens & similar attractions

Conditions to Operate:

• No member of the public may be permitted access to interactive exhibits that would create a high risk of personal contact.
• Lockers must not be provided to the members of the public.
• Any equipment rented or provided to patrons must be cleaned and disinfected between each use.
• Mask/face coverings required, subject to exemptions.

The province of Ontario is strongly urging residents to stay within their regions to stop the spread of COVID. If you reside in a region that is Red, Orange, Yellow or Green, there are attractions open with COVID safety measures in place to keep you safe. It is vital to follow public health guidelines when visiting anywhere in Ontario and to support your local businesses – this includes your local attractions.

Durham Region:

Safety Guidelines: Reservations Only, Increased Tee-Time intervals, increased disinfecting, Employee Health Screening, Reduced capacity in effect  

Jungle Cat World
Safety Guidelines: Masks are required when entering a building; Our livestock animals are off display as touching them is not currently permitted; The Feeding Tour is currently cancelled to avoid crowding;  Screening questions are asked prior to arrival for all programs 

York Region:  

Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre
Safety Guidelines:  Actively screen all patrons, mall staff and visitors entering the centre, enhanced cleaning measures and social distancing in place.

Northern Ontario:

Safety Guidelines: All Season Pass Holders and day guest visitors are now required to complete a Covid Self-Assessment screening test for each visit on the day of their visit prior to entering the grounds. 

Hardwood Ski & Bike, Oro-Medonte
Safety Guidelines: Trail passes, and limited rentals are now only available for purchase in advance; only fatbikes are allowed for winter riding; no rentals of any type may be taken off property.
